A mix of companies and scientist will be working together on blockchain use cases within Techruption, under the supervision of TNO. The focus of the field lab will be on cross-domain blockchain challenges on a national level. In addition the lab aims to deliver 100 blockchain specialist by the end of 2017. A number that will grow to 500 by the end of 2020.
The second location will be opened later in 2017 in the harbor of Rotterdam, aimed specifically on blockchain solutions for (container) logistics.
The initiatives in Heerlen and Rotterdam are supported by the Dutch Blockchain Coalition, a national consortium of public-private partners which aims to further develop blockchain in The Netherlands. The coalition supports the field labs in further developing services and products that combine business opportunities with technical, legal and social solutions.
